Info about LEGO Island

LEGO Island was released in 1997 by Mindscape for Windows PC's, this was followed up by LEGO Island 2: The Brickster's Revenge in 2001, and Island Xtreme Stunts in 2002 (LEGO Island 2 also released on PlayStation 1, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance). There was a bug in the original LEGO Island, the turn speed is hooked to the Frame Rate (FPS) making it a lot less playable on the PC's of today. An interview with LEGO Island's lead programmer, Dennis Goodrow, reveals that this was a known issue that the developers had discovered shortly after release, once they were able to test on a computer fast enough to reveal the bug. The developers wrote a fix but it was never released since the discs had already shipped and Mindscape never made any attempt to publish it. Most likely because there were already planning to fire the entire team to avoid paying the bonuses that they were promised. (Mindscape, you scumbags!) But, you can fix the turn speed! with the LEGO Island Rebuilder! Back to Home
